Best Time To Visit Dong Tong Market (Koh Kong) In 2026 - 2027

Visit Dong Tong Market in Koh Kong, Cambodia

The ideal time to visit Dong Tong Market is during the dry season in Koh Kong, which generally runs from November to April. During these months, the weather is mostly sunny and the humidity levels are lower, making it the perfect climate for comfortable market exploration. Tourists can enjoy browsing through the various stalls without the inconvenience of heavy rains that can occur in the wet season. Moreover, the dry season coincides with Cambodia's peak tourist period, which means that while the market and surrounding attractions will be livelier, accommodations and tours should be booked in advance due to higher demand.

For those interested in experiencing local culture at its most vibrant, visiting Dong Tong Market before or during the Cambodian New Year in April can be particularly rewarding. The market is abuzz with activity, as locals prepare for the celebrations. However, it's worth noting that the market can get quite crowded during this time, and prices for goods and services may be higher due to the festive season. To ensure a more serene visit and to avoid the weather extremes such as the intense heat in late April and the onset of the monsoon rains, planning a trip in the earlier months of the dry season, like December or January, would be advisable.
