By Air

For international travelers, the primary airport is Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP). Upon arrival, you can take the Malpensa Express train to Milano Centrale, Milano Porta Garibaldi, or Milano Cadorna train stations. From there, take the metro – Line 1 (the red line) or Line 3 (the yellow line) and get off at the "Duomo" stop, which is directly in front of the cathedral.

By Train

If you are arriving by train at Milano Centrale, Milano Porta Garibaldi, or Milano Cadorna, you can easily switch to the Milan Metro system. Again, use Line 1 (red) or Line 3 (yellow) to reach the "Duomo" stop. Trains and metro services are well-signposted, and the Duomo is one of the main stops in the city center.

By Metro

The Milan Metro system is the fastest and most convenient way to get around the city. To reach Duomo di Milano, take the M1 (red) or M3 (yellow) line to "Duomo" station. Once you exit the metro, the entrance to the cathedral is just a few steps away.

By Tram

Milan’s historic trams are not only a charming way to travel but also convenient. Several tram lines, such as trams 2, 3, 12, 14, 16, 24, and 27, stop near the Duomo.

Buses also run frequently in Milan. You can take buses such as 54, which will also bring you close to the cathedral.

By Car

Remember, the area around the cathedral is a Zona Traffico Limitato (ZTL), meaning it is a restricted traffic zone where driving without a permit is prohibited during certain hours.

On Foot

Milan's city center is well-suited for walking. If you are staying in central Milan, simply follow the signs to the Duomo, which is within walking distance from many other major sites including La Scala Opera House and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping arcade.
