Tourists usually walk along the railway tracks from Ella Station for about 1.5 kilometers before reaching the path that leads up to the rock. While it's possible to climb Ella Rock without a guide, having one can enhance the experience by providing local knowledge and ensuring you don't get lost, as the trail can be a bit tricky to follow, especially near the beginning.
