By Road

From Yerevan: Gndevank Monastery is approximately 170 kilometers southeast of Yerevan, Armenia's capital. To reach Gndevank by car:

  • Drive southeast on the H8 highway, leading you to Vayk and then to Jermuk.
  • Upon reaching Jermuk, continue on the main road towards the south where signage will guide you to the monastery.
  • The last part of the journey is a dirt road which may require a vehicle with high clearance, especially during adverse weather conditions.

Public Transportation

For those who prefer public transportation:

  • Take a bus or minibus (marshrutka) from Yerevan's central bus station to Jermuk. The trip is roughly 3 to 4 hours.
  • From Jermuk, you will need to hire a local taxi to reach the Gndevank Monastery, as there is no direct public transportation available.
