Hangzhou Botanical Garden is a sanctuary of flora that offers a tranquil escape from the city's bustle. Situated in the northwestern part of Hangzhou, near the famous West Lake, the garden is spread across a sprawling area of 230 hectares. It was established in 1965 and has since been a delightful haven for plant lovers, researchers, and tourists. The garden is home to a diverse collection of plants, with several sections dedicated to different types, including medicinal herbs, bamboo, aquatic plants, and a vast arboretum. Among its attractions are the Peony Garden, which bursts into a riot of colors during the blooming season, and the Tropical Conservatory, showcasing exotic plants. The garden isn't just a place for plants; it also features scenic spots like the peaceful fish pond, traditional Chinese pavilions, and quaint bridges that invite visitors to slow down and commune with nature. Educational programs and scientific research are key facets of the garden's operation, contributing to conservation efforts.
