Hehuanshan, also known as 'Joy Mountain' is one of Taiwan's most cherished natural sites located in Nantou County. It's a popular destination among hikers, nature enthusiasts, and photographers due to its stunning mountain scenery, rich biodiversity, and relatively accessible high-altitude peaks. Rising to an elevation of over 3,400 meters, it is part of the Central Mountain Range, which creates a backbone for the island of Taiwan. Visitors to Hehuanshan can experience the awe-inspiring views of rolling clouds and verdant landscapes from various viewpoints and trails. The mountain is also famous for its unique alpine flora and fauna, including endemic species and the spectacular blossoms of rhododendrons during spring. In the winter, Hehuanshan is one of the few places in Taiwan where snowfall is observed, drawing tourists to experience the rarity. The climb to the peak of Hehuanshan is facilitated by the well-maintained Hehuanshan Road, which is considered one of the highest highways in East Asia.
