Best Time To Visit Intanki Wildlife Sanctuary (Dimapur) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Intanki Wildlife Sanctuary

Located in the outskirts of Dimapur in Nagaland, India, the Intanki Wildlife Sanctuary is a haven for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. The best time to visit the sanctuary is between November to February when the weather is pleasant with minimal rainfall and the temperature ranges from a comfortable 10°C to 20°C. This period marks the winter season and is ideal for wildlife spotting as the verdant landscapes of the park are not shrouded by the monsoon rains. It's the optimal time for tourists to enjoy the lush biodiversity and the myriad of flora and fauna without the hindrance of heavy rainfall and the extreme humidity that comes with the monsoon and summer months.

As the sanctuary houses various species of animals such as the Hoolock gibbon, Golden langur, Wild boars, and several species of birds, the cooler climate during these months provides an excellent opportunity for bird-watching and wildlife photography. Early mornings and late afternoons are particularly rewarding for taking guided wildlife tours within the sanctuary. However, visitors should be aware that the sanctuary may have specific visiting hours and certain areas may be inaccessible during the off-season. Therefore, it is advisable to check with the local forest department for current visiting guidelines and to ensure the best possible experience.
