Istiqlal Mosque, situated in the heart of Jakarta, Indonesia, is the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and an iconic symbol of Indonesian independence. Completed in 1978, the mosque was designed by Frederich Silaban, a Christian architect, emphasizing the nation's philosophy of religious tolerance and diversity. Covering an area of 9.5 hectares, the mosque can accommodate up to 120,000 worshippers. Its main structure is supported by 12 columns, and the 45-meter diameter central dome is magnificently crowned with a stainless steel pinnacle, symbolizing the Five Pillars of Islam. The mosque's minaret rises to 90 meters, representing the 90 names of God in Islamic tradition. The mosque complex also includes a spacious rectangular courtyard, a reflecting pool, and facilities for social and cultural activities. Adjacent to the Merdeka Square and facing the Jakarta Cathedral, it stands as a harmonious testament to the country's religious pluralism.
Great Islamic Center. Nicely situated and several daily events in Ramadan. The Taraweeh Prayers were really great and reasonable in length

Have a look if in area
We were in the area at Monas so walked over here. It was ok but quite a modern building. We decided not to go inside but had a cold water in the nearby food area.
