Jangdok Island is an uninhabited islet located in the Wonsan city region on the eastern coast of North Korea. Jangdok Island is part of the cluster of islets that can be viewed from Wonsan's beachfront. The island is small and rocky, mainly covered with shrubbery. Due to its natural state and the restricted access commonly associated with North Korean territories, it remains undisturbed by tourism and maintains its pristine environment. It serves as a visual attraction, especially when integrated into the scenic views of the Sunan area, contributing to Wonsan's charm as a maritime city. The larger Wonsan area is known for its historic and cultural sites, including several Revolutionary sites connected to the Kim family, the Songdowon International Children's Camp, and the Wonsan Agricultural University. The waterfront area is being developed to boost tourism, with plans for resorts and economic zones along the coast.
