Wonsan Beach Tourism

Wonsan Beach is located within the city of Wonsan, on the eastern coast of North Korea. Known for its scenic views and significant historical background, the beach is a popular destination for both locals and a limited number of foreign tourists who obtain permission to visit. The Wonsan area has been developed to boost tourism, including the construction of several new facilities and tourist attractions. The beach itself offers a vast expanse of sand and clear sea waters, where visitors can partake in swimming and other recreational activities. Wonsan also serves as a transport hub with its port, airport, and railway connections. The city's history as an important naval base adds to the beach's charm, with the juxtaposition of natural beauty and industrial legacy. While North Korea's restrictive travel policies may limit accessibility, the area is promoted within the country as a retreat and vacation spot, particularly during the summer months when the beach becomes a festive location with various public events and activities.
