Best Time to Visit Jabal Thera, Abha

One of the most picturesque destinations in the Asir Province of Saudi Arabia, Jabal Thera (also known as Green Mountain) in Abha, beckons travelers with its lush landscapes and mild climate. The best time to visit Jabal Thera is during the summer months, particularly from June to August. During this period, the weather is cooler compared to most parts of Saudi Arabia, with temperatures averaging between 20°C to 25°C. This provides a respite from the scorching heat and is ideal for exploring the vibrant city of Abha and taking in the panoramic views atop Jabal Thera. Additionally, summer coincides with the famous Abha Festival, which showcases local culture, arts, and music, adding to the appeal of your visit.

For those looking to experience the area's natural beauty without the summer crowds, considering a visit in the shoulder months of April, May, September, and October is also a great choice. The weather remains pleasant, and there are fewer tourists, allowing for a more serene experience. It's important to note, however, that occasional rain showers can be expected during these months. Nonetheless, the off-peak season offers its own unique charm with blossoming flowers, green valleys, and the opportunity to witness the region's rich flora and fauna in a tranquil setting. Regardless of the time you choose to visit, Jabal Thera's cable car rides, misty mountains, and traditional souks are sure to make any trip memorable.
