By Air

If you're coming from outside of Oman or from a different city within the country, the closest airport is Khasab Airport (KHS). After landing:

  • Take a taxi or rent a car from the airport. The fort is roughly a 10-minute drive from the airport.

By Road

For those traveling from within Oman or the neighboring United Arab Emirates:

  • From Muscat, you can rent a car and drive along the coastal highway for an approximate 500 kilometers, which could take around 6 hours.
  • From Dubai, it is around a 2-hour drive to reach the border at Ras Al Khaimah. After crossing into Oman at the border, you'll drive roughly another hour to reach Khasab.
  • Remember that visa requirements and border controls need to be considered if you're coming from the UAE.

By Ferry

National Ferries Company offers services between Muscat and Khasab:

  • Check the ferry schedule as it might vary seasonally.
  • The journey by sea takes about 6 hours and provides scenic views of the coastline.

By Public Transportation
