Best Time To Visit Kirov Square (Irkutsk) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Kirov Square, Irkutsk, Russia

The ideal time to visit Kirov Square in Irkutsk is during the late spring to early autumn months, particularly from May to September. During this period, the weather is most favorable for exploring the outdoors, as you can expect moderate temperatures and less rainfall. The average temperature ranges from 10°C to 24°C (50°F to 75°F), which is quite comfortable for taking leisurely walks around the square and enjoying the historical atmosphere of the city. Moreover, the long daylight hours of summer allow you to make the most of your day visiting nearby attractions such as the Angara River embankment and the Irkutsk Regional Museum.

Visiting in July and August provides you with the warmest temperatures, when there are also many local festivals and events to experience. This is a vibrant time in Irkutsk, with the city alive with outdoor cafes, street performances, and bustling markets. However, this is also the peak tourist season so there will be more crowds and prices for accommodation can be higher. If you prefer a quieter time with fewer tourists, consider visiting in May or early September, when the weather is still pleasant but the peak season rush has subsided. Keep in mind that the weather can be unpredictable, so it is wise to bring layers and a waterproof jacket regardless of the month you choose to visit.
