Best Time To Visit Koh Trong Island (Kratie) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Koh Trong Island, Kratie, Cambodia

When planning a visit to Koh Trong Island in Kratie Province, Cambodia, the ideal time to go is during the dry season which runs from November through April. During these months, you can expect minimal rainfall, which makes it perfect for exploring the outdoors and participating in various activities the island has to offer. The weather is typically sunny with clear blue skies and the temperatures range from 20°C to 35°C (68°F to 95°F). This pleasant climate is conducive for engaging in the full spectrum of Koh Trong's experiences, from cycling around the island to enjoying a leisurely swim in the Mekong River.

Conversely, the wet season from May to October can be challenging for visitors. The island can experience frequent and heavy showers, particularly from July to September. These can lead to high levels of humidity and muddy conditions, which might hinder some outdoor activities. Nonetheless, for those who don't mind the rain, the wet season also brings out the lush greenery of the landscape, a display of vibrant local flora and sometimes better deals on accommodation. If you decide to visit during this period, be sure to plan accordingly and have a flexible itinerary to accommodate possible weather disruptions.
