Lahij Bridge is an ancient landmark situated in the quaint village of Lahij, nestled in the mountains of Azerbaijan. Known for its cobbled streets and cultural heritage, getting to Lahij Bridge can be an adventure in itself. Here's how you can reach this historic destination:
Step 1: Fly into Heydar Aliyev International Airport, which is the nearest major airport, located in the capital, Baku.
There are primarily two ways to get to Lahij from Baku – by road or by hiring a taxi or a private tour vehicle.
Step 2: From Baku, you will need to travel by bus or marshrutka (shared taxi) to Ismayilli, which is the closest town to Lahij.
Step 3: Buses and marshrutkas depart from Baku International Bus Terminal towards Ismayilli regularly. The travel duration is approximately 3 to 4 hours.
Step 4: Upon arriving in Ismayilli, you can take a local taxi to Lahij. Do keep in mind that the last stretch of the road to Lahij may not be in the best condition and can be quite winding due to the mountainous terrain.
Step 2: Hiring a taxi or a private vehicle directly from Baku to Lahij is the most convenient, albeit more expensive, option. It gives you the flexibility to travel at your own pace and enjoy the scenic Caucasaurian landscapes along the way.
Step 3: Make sure to negotiate the fare in advance or ensure that the taxi operates on a meter. The drive takes roughly 4 hours.
