By Train

Trains from Izmir and other Turkish cities frequently stop at Selçuk, from which Ephesus is only a short taxi or minibus (dolmuş) ride away.

By Bus

There are regular bus services from major cities like Izmir to Selçuk. Once you arrive in Selçuk, you can catch a minibus (dolmuş) to Ephesus.

If you are driving from Izmir, take the D550 highway to reach Selcuk, from where signs will lead you to the site of Ephesus.

Important Information:

  • Ephesus opens at 08:00 AM and closes at 06:30 PM in the summer and 05:00 PM in the winter.
  • It's advisable to wear comfortable walking shoes as the site has uneven marble streets.
  • Bring sunscreen and water, especially during summer months, as the area can get very hot.
  • There are entrance fees for Ephesus and additional charges if you wish to see the Terrace Houses.
