Train: The most convenient method is to take the JR lines. If you're coming from Tokyo, you can take the JR Azusa or Super Azusa Express trains from Shinjuku Station to Matsumoto Station. The journey usually takes about 2.5 hours.
Bus: Upon arriving at Matsumoto Station, you can take the Town Sneaker Bus which has multiple routes around the city. Board the bus heading towards the museum and alight at the "Matsumoto-shi Bijutsukan" stop, which is directly in front of the museum.
If you are driving, the museum can be reached via the Nagano Expressway. Take the Matsumoto IC exit and follow the signs towards the city center. There is parking available at the museum.
