Best Time To Visit Merdeka Walk (Medan) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Merdekka Walk, Medan, Indonesia

When planning a trip to Merdeka Walk in Medan, one of the key considerations should be the weather and local events. The best time to visit would be during the dry season, which falls between June and September. During these months, the weather is predominantly sunny and the humidity is relatively low, making it ideal for outdoor activities including enjoying the food stalls and restaurants that line the walk. This period also coincides with several cultural festivals in Medan, providing an opportunity to experience the local culture and traditions alongside your visit to Merdeka Walk.

Apart from the dry season, another great time to visit is during the celebrations of major festivals such as Chinese New Year and Independence Day on August 17th, when Merdeka Walk is often bustling with additional festivities and decorations. Keep in mind that these periods can also draw larger crowds and may result in higher accommodation costs, so it's advisable to book your stay in advance. Despite the busier atmosphere, the added vibrancy and celebratory events can elevate the experience of your visit to Merdeka Walk, making it an unforgettable part of your Medan adventure.
