By Air

If you're traveling from outside of Indonesia or from far within the country, the easiest way to reach Medan is by flying into Kualanamu International Airport (KNO). From the airport, you can:

  • Take a taxi directly to Merdeka Walk. The trip usually takes about an hour depending on traffic.
  • Use the airport's Railink service to Medan City Center. After reaching the city center, you can either walk to Merdeka Walk, which is about 1.5 km away, or take a short taxi or rickshaw ride.

By Rail

If you’re in Sumatra and close to a railway line, you can take a train to Medan's central railway station. Merdeka Walk is just a short walk from the train station.

By Bus

Long-distance buses are available from different parts of Sumatra to Medan. Once you reach the central bus terminal, known as Terminal Amplas, take a local bus, taxi, or ride-share to Merdeka Walk.
