By River Ferry

The most popular mode of transportation to Mingun Pahtodawgyi is by boat. Tourists generally take a river ferry from the Mandalay Gawwein jetty. The scenic ride along the Ayeyarwady River takes about 40 minutes and provides a glimpse of life along the river. Please note that there's usually a scheduled departure time in the morning and a return trip in the afternoon. Be sure to check the latest timetable and arrive early to secure your ticket.

By Road

Although the journey by land is less common due to the river separating Mingun from Mandalay, it's still possible. Travelers can take a car or taxi to the Sagaing Bridge, then drive north to Mingun, which may take around 1.5 hours in total.
