Natavan's House is one of the cultural gems of Shusha, a city with a rich history in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, which is known for its historical, architectural, and musical traditions. Shusha itself stands as a symbol of Azerbaijani culture and the house of Natavan, a prominent Azerbaijani poetess and philanthropist of the 19th century, Khurshidbanu Natavan, is among the most cherished landmarks. The house was a center of literary and cultural gatherings during her lifetime, making significant contributions to the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan. Renowned for her classic lyrical poetry, Natavan was also known for her humanitarian contributions including the establishment of a water pipeline in Shusha. The architecture reflects the traditional Azerbaijani style of the period. The house has suffered damage during the times of conflict in the region, and efforts have been made to restore it to its past magnificence, symbolically restoring part of the region's cultural identity.
