How to Reach National Museum Cardiff

National Museum Cardiff is situated in the heart of Cardiff's elegant civic centre and is easy to reach by various modes of transportation.

By Train

The nearest train station to the National Museum Cardiff is Cardiff Central. From the station, the museum is approximately a 20-minute walk away. Alternatively, you can take a short taxi ride or catch one of the frequent buses that run from the station to the vicinity of the museum.

By Bus

Many buses stop at the Civic Centre, which is just a few minutes' walk from the museum. Look for buses that stop near Cardiff University or along Park Place.

By Car

For those driving, the museum does not have its own car park. However, there are several pay-and-display car parks nearby. Consider parking at the North Road car parks or the multi-story car parks in the city centre.

By Bike

Cardiff is well-serviced by cycle routes, and there are bike racks available outside the museum for visitors choosing to arrive by bicycle.

By Air

If you're flying in, Cardiff Airport is about 15 miles from the city centre. From the airport, you can take a direct bus service, the T9, to Cardiff Bay and the city centre, or catch a train from Rhoose Cardiff International Airport rail station to Cardiff Central.

By Sea

For visitors traveling by sea, the nearest port is Barry, which is a 20-minute drive from the museum. Ferry services from Ireland arrive at nearby ports such as Pembroke Dock, which is around two hours away by car.

Accessibility

The museum is fully accessible to wheelchair users and visitors with mobility issues. There are accessible toilets and lifts to all floors.
