National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium Tourism

The National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium is a world-class marine research and display facility located on the southern coast of Taiwan, in Checheng Township, Pingtung County. Opened in 2000, the museum spans an impressive area and includes three main exhibit areas: Waters of Taiwan, Coral Kingdom Pavilion, and World Waters Pavilion. The Waters of Taiwan exhibit showcases the rich marine life found around the island, including a variety of fish and aquatic plants. The Coral Kingdom Pavilion features a vibrant display of coral reef ecosystems, while the World Waters Pavilion takes visitors on a journey through different ocean zones around the globe. Additionally, the museum boasts the largest underwater tunnel in Asia, which provides an immersive viewing experience of marine creatures in their habitat. The museum also engages in marine conservation, research, and education, aimed at promoting understanding and respect for the ocean's biodiversity.
