How To Reach National Museum Of Myanmar (Yangon) In 2026 - 2027

Reaching the National Museum of Myanmar, Yangon, Myanmar (Burma)

The National Museum of Myanmar is located in central Yangon and is easily accessible by various modes of transportation. Here are your options:

By Air

For international visitors, the first step is to fly into Yangon International Airport (Mingaladon). From the airport, you can choose the following modes of transportation:

• Taxi: The most convenient way to reach the National Museum from the airport is by taxi. There are taxi stands right outside the arrival hall where you can hire a cab. The drive to the museum could take about 30 to 60 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
• Car Rental Services: You may also opt to rent a car from companies operating at the airport. However, keep in mind that traffic in Yangon can be hectic, and it's recommended to hire a car with a driver.

By Bus

Local buses run throughout the city, and several routes will take you near the National Museum. Look for buses heading to Pyay Road, where the museum is located. Buses in Myanmar are quite cheap, but they may not be the most comfortable option for travelers with a lot of luggage.

By Train

If you're arriving from another city in Myanmar, Yangon Central Railway Station is the main hub for trains. From there, you can take a taxi or a bus to the National Museum. The museum is approximately 3km away from the railway station.

Walking or Bicycles

If you are staying in a nearby hotel or guesthouse, Yangon is a city that can be explored on foot or by bicycle for those who enjoy being active. It gives a great opportunity to see the city's colonial architecture and street life.
