National Oceanographic Museum of Vietnam Tourism

The National Oceanographic Museum of Vietnam is a marine-research institution located in Nha Trang, a coastal city in Khanh Hoa Province. Established in 1922 during the French colonial period, this museum has contributed significantly to the study of marine biodiversity and oceanography in the region. Spread over 20,000 square meters, it houses a vast collection of marine specimens, including thousands of preserved and live specimens. From the tiniest of sea creatures to massive whale skeletons, the place offers an in-depth look into the marine life of South East Asia. The museum consists of two main buildings where exhibitions are displayed. Besides showcasing the rich flora and fauna of the ocean, it also focuses on local fishing techniques and oceanographic research history.
