Neermahal, meaning 'Water Palace', is a former royal palace situated in the middle of Rudrasagar Lake in the northeastern state of Tripura, India. It is approximately 53 kilometers from the state capital Agartala. Constructed by Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Debbarman in the 1930s, Neermahal is a stunning example of an amalgamation of Hindu and Islamic architectural styles. This palace was the summer retreat for the royal family. The palace is accessible only by boat, and its reflection in the waters of the lake is a sight to behold. The palace is divided into two parts - the western side, or the Andar Mahal, was made for the royal family, while the eastern side was designed for the entertainment of the royals and cultural events.
