Reaching Nilgiri by Air

The nearest airport to Bandarban is Shah Amanat International Airport (CGP) in Chittagong. Upon arriving at the airport, travelers can hire a taxi or take a bus to Bandarban, which is about 82 kilometers (approximately 3 hours) away.

Reaching Nilgiri by Bus

There are direct bus services from Dhaka to Bandarban. Several bus companies, such as Shyamoli Paribahan and Hanif Enterprise, offer both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned buses. The trip takes about 8-10 hours.

Reaching Nilgiri from Bandarban Town

Once you've reached Bandarban town, you can rent a 4x4 vehicle (locally known as "Chander Gari") to get to Nilgiri. The distance is around 46 kilometers, and the journey takes roughly 2 hours. It is recommended to arrange this vehicle through a local hotel or tour operator for the best experience.

Accommodation

Nilgiri offers accommodations, which are managed by the Bangladesh Army. It is advisable to book in advance, especially during peak seasons, as these lodgings tend to fill up rapidly due to high demand.

Best Time to Visit

The ideal time to visit Nilgiri is from October to April, when the weather is generally clear, and the views are unobstructed by the monsoon mists.
