Best Time To Visit Puerto Princesa Underground River (Puerto Princesa) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit the Puerto Princesa Underground River

One of the most ideal times to visit the Puerto Princesa Underground River, located on the northwestern coast of Palawan in the Philippines, is during the dry season, which typically spans from October to May. During this period, you're more likely to have sunny and pleasant weather, which is perfect for exploring the river and surrounding attractions. The river, which is also known as the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. It is important to consider that peak tourist months are December, January, and February, where you might encounter larger crowds and higher prices.

Visitors aiming for a more tranquil experience may consider the shoulder months like November and June. While there's a slightly higher risk of rain, you'll benefit from less crowded tours and potentially better deals on accommodation and other activities. No matter when you decide to visit, it’s recommended to start your day early in the morning to avoid the peak influx of tourists and to fully enjoy the stunning landscapes with fewer interruptions. Additionally, booking a guided tour in advance is suggested to ensure entry, as visiting the park is regulated to protect its delicate ecosystem, and the number of daily visitors is limited.
