Best Time To Visit Raghupur Fort (Tirthan Valley) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Raghupur Fort, Tirthan Valley

The optimal period to visit Raghupur Fort in Tirthan Valley, Himachal Pradesh, is during the summer months from April to June. During this season, the snow from the winter has melted, and the weather is primarily clear and pleasant, with temperatures ranging between 8°C and 25°C. This is an excellent time for trekking and outdoor activities, as the skies are usually clear offering great views of the lush greenery and snow-capped Himalayan peaks. The comfortable climate ensures a pleasant journey to the fort, located at an elevation of approximately 3,450 meters above sea level, without the impediments of heavy snow or the monsoon rains.

Another favorable time for a visit is the post-monsoon months of September to November, when the rainfall has subsided, and the region showcases a vibrant palette of autumn colors. The air remains fresh and the visibility is high, providing visitors with breathtaking panoramic vistas from Raghupur Fort. However, the nights can start to get chilly, so it's important to pack accordingly. It is advisable to avoid the monsoon season (July to August) due to heavy rains, which can lead to landslides and difficult trekking conditions, as well as the winter months (December to February) unless you are well prepared for sub-zero temperatures and heavy snowfall.
