Rasikbil Bird Sanctuary Tourism

Rasikbil Bird Sanctuary is a small paradise for bird watchers and nature lovers, nestled in the northeastern corner of West Bengal near Cooch Behar. Covering an area of approximately 175 hectares, it boasts a large waterbody surrounded by lush forests. The sanctuary, also known as Rasikbeel, has a serene and tranquil ambience that provides a habitat for more than 50 species of birds, which includes both native and migratory species. Cormorants, different species of ducks, kingfishers, and spoonbills are commonly seen here. Apart from avian fauna, the sanctuary is home to other wildlife such as python, tortoise, and various types of fishes. The watchtower offers an impressive vantage point for birdwatching and photography. The region's ecosystem is enriched by the presence of a deer park and a crocodile rehabilitation center which draws nature enthusiasts. Educational displays and the lake's boating facilities offer additional recreational activities for visitors, making it a truly integrated wildlife experience.
