Reaching the Reichstag Building in Berlin, Germany

The Reichstag Building, a historic edifice in Berlin and home to the German parliament, is a significant landmark situated in the heart of the city. It's well connected by various modes of transport.

By Public Transportation

  • Train (S-Bahn): You can take the S-Bahn lines S1, S2, or S25 to the Brandenburger Tor station, which is a short walk away from the Reichstag.
  • Underground (U-Bahn): The closest U-Bahn station is Bundestag on the U55 line. It's directly in front of the building.
  • Bus: The bus lines 100 and TXL go to the Reichstag. The stop you should get off at is called Reichstag/Bundestag.
  • Tram: Though there are no tram lines that take you directly to the Reichstag, they can be used as a means to reach connecting S-Bahn and U-Bahn lines.

By Car

If you're driving to the Reichstag, it's important to note that parking in central Berlin can be scarce and expensive. Make sure to look out for public parking facilities and be prepared to pay a fee. For environmentally-friendly travel, considering using the city's extensive public transport system might be a preferable option.

By Bicycle

Berlin is an extremely bike-friendly city with many dedicated bicycle lanes. There are bike racks near the Reichstag Building where cyclists can secure their bicycles.

By Foot

Since the Reichstag Building is centrally located, it's also possible to walk from many nearby tourist sites, such as the Brandenburg Gate or the Holocaust Memorial, which offers a pleasant way to see the city.

Important Note: If you plan to visit the Reichstag's glass dome and the rooftop terrace, you need to register in advance because of security measures.
