Richard Serra's EastWest/WestEast is a monumental sculpture located in the Brouq Nature Reserve near the city of Dukhan in Qatar. While the sculpture itself does not have a direct association with food history, it is situated within a region that boasts a rich culinary heritage. The location provides a serene backdrop to reflect upon the traditional Qatari cuisine, which is a mix of Arabic, Persian, and Indian gastronomy influences, shaped by Qatar’s nomadic Bedouin culture.
Note: Due to the nature of the location, there are limited dining options in the immediate vicinity of the sculpture. Most restaurants and cafes can be found within the city of Dukhan or on the way to the sculpture from larger cities like Doha.
