Best Time To Visit Rowa Wildlife Sanctuary (Dharmanagar) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Rowa Wildlife Sanctuary

The ideal period to schedule a visit to Rowa Wildlife Sanctuary in Dharmanagar, Tripura, is between the months of October and March. This time is widely considered the most suitable due to the pleasant weather conditions it offers. After the monsoon season, the sanctuary flourishes with lush greenery, creating a perfect backdrop for wildlife observation and photography. The temperature during these months ranges from around 10°C to 30°C, which is comfortable for trekking and exploring the diverse flora and fauna of Rowa without the discomfort of the heavy rains or the harsh tropical summer heat. Additionally, this season exhibits minimal rainfall, ensuring that the trails and pathways are easily accessible and making your visit more enjoyable and hassle-free.

During the winter months, particularly November to February, not only is the weather favorable, but it is also an excellent time for bird watching as several migratory birds make the sanctuary their temporary home. The cool and typically fog-free mornings provide clear views and the opportunity to observe the vibrant and active wildlife. It is advisable to pack layered clothing to stay comfortable as mornings and evenings might be cooler compared to the day time. Moreover, since this is peak tourist season for the region, it is recommended to plan your trip well in advance, ensuring that you have your accommodations and travel arrangements in place to avoid any last-minute inconveniences.
