San Pedro Cathedral, officially known as the Cathedral of Saint Peter the Apostle, is the oldest church in the city of Davao, Philippines. Located right in the heart of downtown Davao, it is the city's main cathedral and serves as the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Davao. The cathedral, with a history closely related to the growth and development of Davao City, was originally built as a small wooden structure in 1847 by Spanish conquistadors and has undergone numerous renovations over the years. Today, the cathedral stands as a cultural and historical landmark, recognizable by its modern design with a distinctive curved roof symbolizing a ship, highlighting Davao's maritime roots. The structure, whilst simple, reflects the rich spiritual traditions of the local people and is an essential place of worship for Davaoeños. Its façade faces the prominent San Pedro Street and is adjacent to the Davao City Hall. With beautifully landscaped grounds outside, the cathedral remains a peaceful refuge in the bustling city and is a popular spot for religious pilgrims and tourists alike.
