Saraswati Wildlife Sanctuary (Seonsar Forest) Tourism

Saraswati Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as Seonsar Forest, is located in the Yamunanagar district of Haryana, India. Spread over an area of about 177.34 square kilometers, the sanctuary is named after the mythical river Saraswati. It is a vital protected area for the conservation of biodiversity in the region, harboring various species of flora and fauna. The sanctuary consists of mainly moist deciduous forests and is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including several species of deer, birds, reptiles, and insects. It is particularly known for being a safe haven for the Hog Deer (Axis porcinus). The terrain comprises flat plains interspersed with gentle hillocks and the lush greenery offers an enchanting backdrop, especially during the monsoon season when the vegetation is at its peak. Alongside wildlife protection, the sanctuary also plays a significant role in environmental education and provides opportunities for nature tourism and scientific research.
