Sarazm Archaeological Site is an ancient town which is located near Panjakent in western Tajikistan. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Sarazm dates back to the 4th millennium BCE and is among the oldest urban settlements in Central Asia. It demonstrates the early development of proto-urbanization in this region. The site provides evidence of the development of mining, metallurgy, farming, and trading during the Bronze Age.
