Sevan National Park is an important ecological and recreational area situated in the Gegharkunik Province of Armenia, surrounding the picturesque Lake Sevan. Covering an area of approximately 1500 square kilometers, it was established in 1978 to protect the lake and its environs. Lake Sevan, one of the largest high-altitude freshwater lakes in the world, sits at an altitude of about 1900 meters above sea level. It is a biodiversity hotspot with rich flora and fauna, including several endemic species of fish, such as the Sevan trout.
