Shakarparian is one of Islamabad's most renowned tourist spots, offering panoramic views of the city from its vantage point. Situated near the Zero Point interchange, it lies in the foothills of the Margalla Hills. This scenic spot provides visitors with a beautiful overview of both Islamabad and its sister city, Rawalpindi. Shakarparian also holds historical significance as it hosts the Pakistan Monument, a national symbol representing the four provinces and three territories. Within its lush greenery, locals and tourists enjoy picnics, casual strolls, and the experience of the natural environment. It is especially popular during the spring when flowers are in full bloom. Furthermore, the site houses the Pakistan Monument Museum, which offers insight into the country's history and heritage. Shakarparian also features the Parade Ground, where the annual Pakistan Day military parade takes place on March 23rd. The area is well-maintained, providing a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
