Daman-e-Koh is a viewpoint and hilltop garden located in the middle of the Margalla Hills, which are the foothills of the Himalayas, in Islamabad, Pakistan. At an elevation of about 2400 feet above sea level, it offers a panoramic view of Islamabad city, which lies to the south. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region, providing a bird's eye view of the city, especially stunning at night when the city lights are on. The lookout point is a terraced area with gardens and is a perfect spot for family outings and picnics. It also has a lot of monkeys, which are a source of amusement for visitors, although they are known to snatch food. The spot is frequently visited by locals and tourists for its tranquil environment and beautiful scenery. There are telescopes installed for those who wish to look at the cityscape more closely, along with refreshment kiosks. The name 'Daman-e-Koh' could be translated as 'the lap of the mountain'. Visitors can drive up, walk or jog to the top. There's also a higher viewpoint above Daman-e-Koh called Pir Sohawa, which can be reached from here.
