Islamabad Zoo was situated at the foot of the Daman-e-Koh viewpoint. It was a public zoo that served the citizens of Islamabad, Pakistan, and was known for its variety of animals, including indigenous species and exotic wildlife. The zoo aimed to provide recreation, education, and awareness about wildlife conservation, but it faced criticism for the living conditions of the animals. Due to inherent issues and concerns regarding animal welfare, the zoo was officially closed, and the animals were relocated. Islamabad Zoo was located within the lush greenery of the Margalla Hills National Park which provided a picturesque backdrop for visitors. It was previously a place where families and school groups visited to see animals like elephants, birds, and bears. Although the zoo has now been closed and ceased operations, its location remains a point of interest in the capital city due to its proximity to other tourist attractions such as the Islamabad National Park and various hiking trails in the Margalla Hills.
