Shri Nalanda Institute for Higher Buddhist Studies is located within the premises of the Rumtek Monastery, which is one of the most significant and largest monasteries in Sikkim, India. The institute was founded by the 16th Karmapa, Rangjung Rigpe Dorje, with the intent of preserving and propagating Buddhist teachings and philosophy.
