By Train:

Siena is accessible by train from many Italian cities, though direct routes are limited. Trains from cities such as Florence, Rome, or Pisa typically require a connection at Empoli. Once you arrive at Siena's train station, you can:

  • Take a taxi to the cathedral.
  • Use the local bus service to reach the historic center where the cathedral is located.

By Car:

If you are coming by car, Siena is well connected by the Italian autostrada system (motorways). The main routes to reach Siena are:

  • From Florence: Take the Raccordo Autostradale Firenze-Siena, which is a fast toll-free dual carriageway.
