How To Reach Sohar

Traveling to Sohar, Oman

By Air

The closest airport to Sohar is the Muscat International Airport (MCT), located approximately 200 kilometers away. From there, travelers can rent a car, take a bus, or arrange for a taxi to get to Sohar. There's also the Sohar Airport (OHS), but it primarily serves domestic flights from within Oman.

By Road

Sohar is well-connected by road and can be easily reached from Muscat or the United Arab Emirates. The drive from Muscat takes about 2 hours along the Oman E1 highway. From the UAE, you can cross the border at Al Ain/Buraimi or Hatta, and continue on the highway directly to Sohar. Car rentals and intercity buses are available for this route.

By Sea

For those interested in sea travel, Sohar is a major port city and can be accessed by sea, though this is less common for tourists unless arriving on a cruise that docks at the Port of Sohar.
