Best Time to Visit Surajkund Hot Spring

Surajkund Hot Spring, situated in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand, India, is a renowned natural geothermal spring that has attracted visitors for its therapeutic values. The ideal time to visit Surajkund is during the winter months from October to March. During this period, the weather is pleasant, with moderate temperatures that range from 10°C to 25°C, making it comfortable for tourists to enjoy the warm waters of the hot spring while avoiding the scorching heat of the summer months. The cooler climate also presents a perfect opportunity for sightseeing around Hazaribagh and experiencing the lush greenery of the surrounding hills and forests.

Furthermore, the winter season coincides with numerous local festivals and events, which can greatly enhance the cultural experience of your visit. One such event is the Surajkund Mela, a vibrant craft fair that usually takes place in February and showcases a variety of handicrafts, handlooms, and cultural performances from across India. However, it is important to note that the spring tends to be more crowded during this festival period, so visitors seeking a more tranquil experience may prefer to visit in the months before or after the fair. Additionally, the festival period might require advance booking of accommodations due to increased tourist influx. Nonetheless, a visit during this lively time can provide a more immersive experience of the local culture and festivities.
