Best Time To Visit Tegenungan Waterfall (Ubud) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Tegenungan Waterfall in Ubud, Indonesia

The most ideal time to visit Tegenungan Waterfall, located near Ubud in Bali, Indonesia, is during the dry season, which typically stretches from April to September. During these months, the weather is more predictable, characterized by lower humidity levels and minimal rainfall. As a result, the paths leading to the waterfall are less slippery, making for a safer and more comfortable hike. Moreover, the reduced rainfall ensures that the water flow remains steady and clear, making it perfect for those memorable photographs. Additionally, mornings are particularly recommended as the best time of day to visit, with fewer crowds and a serene atmosphere allowing visitors to truly enjoy the natural beauty of the waterfall.

July and August, however, are the peak tourist months in Bali and at Tegenungan Waterfall. While the weather conditions are prime, these months tend to draw large crowds, which can detract from the experience if you are seeking tranquility. To avoid the crowds, aim to visit either early in the morning or later in the afternoon. It is also noteworthy that during the wet season, from October to March, the water level rises and the flow becomes heavier, which can be impressive to see but may also limit access to certain areas, and swimming might be less safe due to strong currents. If you choose to visit during the wet season, it's crucial to exercise caution and check local advice on safety.
