The National Museum of Oman, Muscat, Oman: Food History

The National Museum of Oman in Muscat offers a deep insight into the rich tapestry of Omani culture, including its food history. Spices, flavors, and culinary practices were exchanged with traders from Asia, Africa, and other Arabian regions. Traditional Omani food is lush with a variety of spices, herbs, and marinades, though the staple ingredients remain simple, including rice, vegetables, and meats excluding cow-derived products due to dietary preferences.
