Best Time To Visit Thimi (Bhaktapur) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Thimi, Bhaktapur, Nepal

The best time to visit Thimi, a traditional Newar city in the Bhaktapur district of Nepal, is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. Spring brings with it moderate temperatures and minimal rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the vibrant cultural heritage and enjoying outdoor activities. This period is characterized by clear skies and blooming flowers, notably the rhododendrons, Nepal's national flower. Tourists can comfortably roam the historical streets of Thimi and dive into the colorful festivals such as Bisket Jatra without the interruption of extreme weather. Moreover, the air is at its cleanest after the winter, providing excellent visibility for picturesque views of the Himalayas.

Autumn, on the other hand, is the most popular tourist season due to its mild weather and the major festivals of Dashain and Tihar. The post-monsoon freshness leaves the landscape lush and green, and the clear skies offer spectacular mountain views. This season allows for comfortable travel and sightseeing, as well as enjoyable treks and hikes in the surrounding areas. The grandeur of Thimi's celebrations during these festivals, with their traditional rituals and the warmth of the locals, offers an immersive cultural experience. However, visitors should plan ahead and book accommodations in advance during this busy season.
