Best Time To Visit Ukhrul (Manipur) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Ukhrul, Manipur, India

Located in the northeastern part of India, Ukhrul is a picturesque district in the state of Manipur known for its pristine hills and unique tribal culture. The best time to visit Ukhrul is during the pre-monsoon and post-monsoon seasons, which typically stretch from April to June and from October to November, respectively. During these periods, the weather is pleasant with moderate temperatures, making it conducive for sightseeing and exploring the outdoors. In April and May, one gets to witness the blooming of the famous Shirui Lily at the Shirui Kashong Peak, which is a popular tourist attraction. The town also hosts the annual Shirui Lily Festival around this time, showcasing the cultural extravaganza of the local tribes.

Travelling to Ukhrul in the winter months from December to February is also favorable, as the weather is cool and dry, with the temperature ranging from 4°C to 25°C. This period is ideal for tourists looking to escape the harsh winters of the north or the heat of the plains. However, visitors should be prepared for chilly nights and pack accordingly. The monsoon season from July to September is the least advisable time for a trip due to heavy rainfall, which may cause landslides and make travel inconvenient. The natural beauty of the region is in full swing during the monsoons, but it is better enjoyed during the safer, drier months.
