Uppatasanti Pagoda, located in Naypyidaw, the capital city of Myanmar (Burma), is an iconic landmark and a significant place of worship for the Burmese Buddhist community. Completed in 2009, Uppatasanti translates to 'Peace Pagoda,' signifying the importance of peace and tranquility in Buddhism. Nearly identical to the famous Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Uppatasanti stands at 99 meters tall, just 30 centimeters shorter than its counterpart, and consists of a series of intricate terraces leading to the golden stupa at the summit. The pagoda is also home to a relic chamber, which purportedly houses a tooth relic of the Buddha. Visitors can find several other significant religious structures within the compound, including a Buddha garden, a Maha Hsutaungpyae Buddha Image, and a museum dedicated to the Buddhist teachings. The colossal white elephants that grace the entrance further enhance the pagoda's grandeur, symbolizing power and prosperity.
