Visit Zhuilu Old Trail: Best Time Highlights

The Zhuilu Old Trail in Hualien, Taiwan, is an extraordinary hiking destination that showcases stunning natural beauty and rich historical significance. To get the best experience out of your hike, the ideal time to visit the trail is during the spring months of March to May. During this period, the weather is generally comfortable, avoiding the sweltering heat and humidity prevalent in the summer months. Spring also brings the landscape to life, with lush greenery and blooming flora that greatly enhance the visual appeal of the trail. Moreover, during these months, the rainfall is relatively lower compared to the summer and typhoon season, ensuring safer and more enjoyable hiking conditions.

Another suitable time to visit the Zhuilu Old Trail is during the autumn season, specifically from September to November. Visitors during this time can enjoy the cooler weather and the changing colors of the foliage which make for a spectacular hiking atmosphere. It’s critical, however, to avoid visiting during the rainy season (typically from June to August) and the typhoon season (usually from July to October), as this can not only make the hike more challenging but also increase the risk of landslides and trail closures. No matter when you plan to visit, always check the weather forecast and the trail's official website for potential closures or advisories to ensure a safe and rewarding trekking experience.
